Meet Your TRAINERS

Founder/Trainer – Cat Kom

cat in the studio“I worked as a technology consultant and engineer for many years, using my Business & Technology Degree from the University of Washington, but after years of doing that I decided that life was too short to keep doing something I didn’t love.

I had always been involved in fitness to some degree.  My first job at the age of 16 was at a gym in Palmdale, CA.  With that said, I dove in and started working on becoming a certified personal trainer to supplement my group fitness instruction.  My first certification was in Spinning® because I LOVE Spinning®!  Best workout I had ever experienced and loved that anyone could do it and that everyone left looking like they had been hit by a fire hose.

I really plunged into the fitness world when I bought my gym in Washington State.  Even as the owner managing the business, I continued training clients and leading group exercise.  Why? Because THAT is what I love doing. I’m passionate about it! I live the life and help others do the same.

When I moved to San Diego in July of 2009 I really had no intention of opening another operation, but it’s just in my blood.  A couple of months later I started leading Fitness Camps, then at the end of February 2010 Studio SWEAT was born.  My goal was the same as it always has been.  Create a welcoming environment where people feel comfortable no matter what fitness level they currently are.  Along with that, show them they are capable of more than they ever imagined.  When people walk in the door they feel at home.  When they leave they are drenched in sweat and proud of what they just did.  I love my job.”

Dustin

bethanyAlmost 10 years ago, Dustin realized that he was sick and tired of being overweight, so he set a goal to learn everything he could about exercise and nutrition to become the healthy person he had always dreamed he could be. Two years later and almost 80 pounders lighter, he decided it was his mission to keep learning and to teach everyone that would listen to how awesome it is to live a healthy and vibrant lifestyle, living by the idea people should “Stop eating to be skinny and start eating to be Healthy”.

He became hooked on the feeling of accomplishment after intense cross training style workout and was amazed of discovering what his body was truly capable of. Dustin is always trying to find new and fun ways to diversify his training and to challenge his clients and loves cross training!

Dustin has been a Personal Trainer for 6 years, a Massage Therapist for 12 years, and has also worked as a Physical Therapist Aide. He is currently studying to get his Nutritional Science Degree. Jack of all trades.

Olga

bethanyOlga grew up in the Ukraine and struggled with her weight as a child often “Yo-Yoing” with fad diets. When she came to the U.S. in 1996 – she was at her heaviest and took control! She joined a gym, hired a personal trainer, got smart about nutrition and got ADDICTED to spinning. Like a lot of us – she loves the sound of clipping in! Spinning helped Olga drop 100 pounds and stay fit.

After filling in to teach a class one day, Olga got certified as a spin instructor and eventually Pilates, bosu and TRX. She is also continuing her Physical Therapy education at SDSU. She loves her family and friends and teaching people – helping them to achieve their goals, whatever they may be.

If you haven’t taken a class from Olga, you should know – she’s tough, motivational and a whole lotta crazy! And that’s why we love her.
